overview

Our research is highly multidisciplinary in the process safety area with the intent to resolve the most critical safety problem in the industries, which is to prevent and mitigate hazardous phenomena including fire, explosion, and toxic release. The research is ranging from a molecular level, macroscale, plant level to an enterprise level. Topics include QSPR modeling, flame retardant, fire suppression, CFD modeling, pipeline corrosion, risk analysis, and leak detection. The research aims to bring perspectives of chemical engineering, chemistry, and fire protection engineering to energy industries and hence yield systematic solutions to process safety issues.
