Genhua Niu is a professor in controlled environment horticulture at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research in Dallas. Dr. Niu earned her Ph.D. from Chiba University in Japan and holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Zhejiang University in China. She has published 163 peer-reviewed journal papers, 25 book chapters, 50 proceedings papers, and 25 extension articles, as of March 2024. She is the editor and author of the books "Plant Factory - Indoor Vertical Farming for Efficient Quality Food Production" (1st & 2nd edition) and "Plant Factory - Basics, Applications, and Advances". She has delivered over 90 invited presentations, including five keynote addresses at international symposia in China, France, Italy, and Mexico. Dr. Niu became a Fellow of the American Society for Horticultural Sciences in 2023.
