overview
My research on marine invertebrates spans evolution, ecology, development and physiology. My lab is interested in how invertebrate animals have diversified over time and space. Which morphological and physiological characteristics have led to the evolutionary success of a species? Which environmental factors drive its geographic distribution? To address these questions, we focus on marine annelids, a ubiquitous and diverse taxon with at least 15,000 described species and a wide range of habitats and lifestyles.
