Dr. Connie Barroso Garcia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University. She received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Florida State University in 2020 and joined Texas A&M University as an Visiting Assistant Professor and Accountability, Climate, Equity, and Scholarship (ACES) Fellow in the Fall of 2020. She started her tenure-track position in 2022. Dr. Barroso teaches graduate courses in educational psychology and learning theories. Dr. Barroso's research focuses on understanding the beliefs, emotions, and attitudes that children and adults have about mathematics and how these affective factors relate to mathematics learning and interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
