Elmageed, Zakaria individual record
Assistant Professor

One of my research focus which has been funded by NIH and other grantors spanning around the diagnostic/prognostic utilities of exosomal microRNAs and the role of these microvesicles \"exosomes\" in altering the tumor microenvironment and dysregulating multiple metabolic pathways for promoting tumor progression and aggressiveness in patients with prostate cancer.

My objective is to determine the underlying mechanisms by which tumor cells acquire resistance and aggressive behavior through the transfer of specific cargo of exosomes to their target cells using a combination of in vitro and in vivo approaches and patient samples. My long-term goal is to create mechanism-based therapeutic intervention strategies for cancer disease.
