overview
My research expertise focuses on groundwater-surface water interactions, coastal and submarine groundwater discharge (SGD), and the role of groundwater in delivering terrestrial-derived solutes to coastal and marine environments. I investigate the processing of nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, silicate) and organic matter within subterranean estuaries and explore the microbial ecology that drives these biogeochemical processes at the land-ocean interface. Additionally, my work examines how climate change impacts the quality and quantity of coastal groundwater, with implications for coastal ecosystem health and management.
